Nigerian police are cracking down on a drug trafficking syndicate smuggling narcotics between there, South Africa, Mozambique, the US and Europe, after heroin was discovered in metal cutting machines and investigators linked it to a logistics company tied to this country.
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have seized more than 44,948.1 kilograms of illicit drugs, about 44.9 tonnes, in Lagos, Edo and Ondo states. According to the NDLEA spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi on Sunday in Abuja, eight suspects were arrested while 11 vehicles were seized from the suspected drug barons. He said
