Galesburg Police responded to an apartment at Moon Towers on Friday night for a battery that had just occurred. Officers met with a 64-year-old man who had a cut on his arm and was bleeding from his mouth. The man said his 40-year-old son and another man were inside the apartment and they got upset when they were told to leave. It's unclear why the man wanted his son to leave, but according to police reports, the man "didn't want to get in trouble." Most visitors are required to be approved with a visitor's pass at Knox County Housing Authority properties. The man's son pulled a knife on him and then cut him on the arm and kicked him in the face. The 40-year-old then ran away and departed on a bike in an unknown direction.
