On the Golden Gate Bridge. Good evening, im brian hackney. Im ann notarangelo. Chopper 5 is live over the span right now. Workers are still doing some adjustments on the new barrier. It took 20 minutes for them to fit just that last piece and it will still be a while before the bridge is back in business. Our Christian Hartnett is at the span tonight. Christian. Reporter its a big step but theres still work to be done. But there is a possibility that the bridge will open back up before the slated 4 a. M. Time on monday morning. Crews began installing barrier units in the earlymorning hours as people watched from the eastern side of the bridge. It will be 11,5500 feet. The bridge district says the barrier will still need to be adjusted and properly aleaned once all the units are down as well as striping that needs to be done at both ends of the bridge.
