School Reform Commission will exercise the powers given to us by state law to cancel the labor contract between the School District and the Philadelphia Federation of teachers. William hite says its time for teachers to share in the sacrifices. So here is what happened. A board voted unanimously to cancel the pft contract, and what that means is that teachers will have to put up their own money for benefits. Salaries have not changed, and the src says this action will d redirect 48. 3 million to district schools and save 100 million over the next four hours.
