La Paz Chattanooga, the longest-serving non-profit organization working directly with Chattanooga s rapidly-growing Latino population, has added five new team members in an effort to meet heightened service demands.
Linda Prechtl receives the SUNY Chancellorâs Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching from President Stephen Kolison.
Linda (Ferry) Prechtl, an adjunct faculty member in the State University of New York at Fredonia College of Education, was recently recognized by President Stephen Kolison Jr., as the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching.
Since 2010, Mrs. Prechtl has been an adjunct lecturer in Pre-K to Grade 6 Literacy program at Fredonia. In this role, she implements curriculum using academic learning strategies and educational pedagogy, utilizing lectures, discussions, group work and demonstrations in literacy methods. She is also a teaching methods instructor in the highly regarded Helen R. Johnson Fredonia-Hamburg Internship Program for SUNY Fredonia education majors.

DULUTH, Minn.– As Christmas day gets closer, the Northland Foundation and other Duluth organizations are stepping in to help put presents under the tree for area families in need.
Volunteers have been giving their time to help spread some Christmas joy to kids in Duluth, overcoming the effects of the pandemic to make sure dozens of kids get a whole bunch of presents they may not have gotten otherwise.
“The big thing that COVID does is it just creates an opportunity for us to do some things in a different way, sometimes a more challenging way,” said Caitlin Ward, the After School Coordinator at Steve O’Neil Apartments.
