The criminals were busted at Nungua, Nima, La, Pokuase, and West Weija district.
The Accra Regional Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Afia Tenge speaking to the media said the suspects are being screened and those found culpable will be arraigned.
According to her, The Regional Police Accra under the command of DCOP Afful Boakye-Yiadom has conducted a special operation code name No space for criminals in Accra and have arrested at least 156 suspected criminals from their hideouts. The Accra Regional Police, led by DCOP Afful Boakye Yiadom, has arrested 156 suspected criminals from their various hideouts across the city.
Speaking to the media, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Region Police Command, DSP Afia Tenge said the five-day exercise was under the operation ‘No Space for Criminals in Accra’.
She explained that the special operation is the police’s efforts to minimise crime and other unlawful activities in the city.
“The five-day operation which began on March 3rd targeted locations noted to be harbouring criminals, cemeteries, ghettos, markets and other similar areas across the 14 divisions in Accra.”

The Accra Regional Police Command has advised operators of filling stations to tighten security around their stations following a rise in robbery attacks on such operations.
The recommendation of the police include the installation of undercover close circuit television (CCTV) cameras on their premises, well-lit environments, installation of quality security doors, burglar proofs and alarms and undertaking security and background checks of the people they employ.
Some of the measures could be executed with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Context
There has been a number of robbery attacks on filling stations in some parts of the Greater Accra Region in recent times.
