This unique project will provide 14 safe and stable housing units for Blackfoot women and their children who are relocating from the Kainai, Siksika and Piikani reserves.
These homes represent a new start or a different chapter. Some of these women may be starting new jobs or attending school. Others may be fleeing difficult circumstances and looking for safety and stability.
The governments of Alberta and Canada are bringing more mixed-income housing to Lethbridge-area seniors.

The new development includes 64 housing units addressing the need for more affordable seniors homes in the City of Lethbridge. The units will incorporate a mixed-income model, allowing residents to pay rent at a rate that makes sense for their individual situation.
Located across from a park, the new homes include on-site supports for the residents who should be moving in by early spring 2022.
The total project will create about 91 jobs.

The Manor
After years of planning and a $4.75 million capital grant from the Provincial Government, the construction on The Manor at Whitecourt Downtown South is officially underway. On Friday, February 5, Greg Christenson, president of the Christenson Group of Companies, alongside Mayor Chichak, Mayor Burrows, MLA Martin Long and Minister of Senior’s and Housing for Alberta Josephine Pon, kicked off the long-awaited project.

Somebody in a couple will age more rapidly than the other spouse, so, sadly, they are broken up, and one has to go, if not to another building, but sometimes to another community,” explained Greg Christenson.
