People on the Move Springfield College announced that Beth Zapatka has been hired as the new vice president for Institutional Advancement, following a national and competitive search. Zapatka comes to Springfield College from Yale University, where she served as associate dean for Development and Alumni Affairs for the Yale School of Nursing. She will join the President’s Leadership Team on July 1 and oversee all institutional-advancement efforts, including the departments of Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, and Development. In a nine-year career at Yale, Zapatka held numerous roles that created a well-rounded set of experiences in institutional advancement that are directly transferable to Springfield College. In her most recent role in the School of Nursing, her accomplishments include securing significant new resources nearly tripling contributions to the school overseeing a rebranding campaign, building university-wide collaborations, broadening the use of social-

In celebration of the bonds that make it a special place, Wabash College once again will show the strength of its connections as it hosts its eighth-annual Day of Giving on Thursday, April 8. Some of our traditional events – Ringing In, Chapel Sing, Homecoming – took place in a socially distant fashion, but the collective sense of belonging allowed our students to experience a school year largely in-person and in-residence. Such an effort showed that our greatest traditions – teaching and learning, faculty-student relationships, and brotherhood – can survive any challenge.

Missouri S&T earns national recognition for fundraising, marketing, alumni relations RDN REPORTS rdnnews@gmail.com Missouri University of Science and Technology recently earned a national award for excellence in fundraising from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) as well as nine district awards for excellence in marketing, communications, and alumni and donor relations during the virtual CASE All Districts Conference held in mid-February. Missouri S&T’s University Advancement division received the 2021 CASE Educational Fundraising Award, which is awarded based on results published in the “Voluntary Support of Education” (VSE) survey that CASE conducts. CASE member institutions that have participated in the VSE for the past three years are automatically considered.
