Training firm joins Cumbria education partnership

A Cumbrian training specialist will provide support to even more workforces across the county as it joins an education partnership.
PHX Training, which has six centres across the North West, has joined the Edge, led by Carlisle College.
Set up in 2013, the Edge is a partnership of colleges and training providers working together to support businesses in Cumbria through a European Social Fund (ESF) contract, to provide funded training to address skills gaps and facilitate economic growth.
PHX will deliver the Skills Support for the Workforce contract in the region, alongside other partners and with Carlisle College, the accountable body, to help employees gain new skills and qualifications.
In yesterday s speech, the Queen outlined the government s aim to deliver a national recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic that makes the UK stronger, healthier and more prosperous than before .
To achieve this, the government intends to pass 30 bills into law in the next year.

High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Bill
The bill will provide the powers to build and operate the next stage of the High Speed 2 (HS2) network from Crewe to Manchester. This will create thousands of jobs and help the country build back better from the Covid-19 pandemic. It will bring cities closer together, boost productivity and provide a low-carbon mode of transport and alternative to planes.
