wishers have created this memorial along the fence here at claremont and glenview to remember the people who have lost their lives and those who are still recovering. many people told us it was important for them to be with neighbors tonight. sanbruno residents, red cross volunteers and firefighters gathered to remember the loss of life and property six months ago today. many had not seen each other since the horrific event of september 9th. the crowd marked the moment the pipeline ruptured and devastated their neighborhood at 11 minutes after 6. a moment of silence if we could, please. reporter: are you in a lot of pain? yes, i am. it s a process. reporter: joseph gomez was severely burned and spent five months in the hospital. the 20-year-old was released just a month ago. he told us more painful is the loss of his girlfriend jessica morals who died in the fire. he came this evening to pay his respects to her and his neighbors. things will be back to normal in six

misconduct. 36 cases were dropped today, totaling 57 cases, which have now been thrown out. and keep in mind just last year hundreds of other cases were also thrown out because of a drug lab zmanld san francisco as well. nbc bay area s jean elle tracking this story. it seems like the only people benefiting here are the ones getting the free pass out of jail. reporter: well, raj, the sheriff s department says it go: word around 2:00 this afternoon that as many as 36 inmates would be released due to this police scandal. and those inmates are starting to trickle out this door here at the jail. we just talked with an inmate named anthony marshall. he was just released. he says an undercover unit set him up on a bogus robbery charge. he says he s relieved to be out jail.1: but police commissioners are concerned. they are concerned that angerous criminals are beingcc: released.cc1: i work narcotics as a prosecutor. so you have a group of cops generating lots of cases because th
good evening. i m dan ashley. a growing scandal in the san francisco police department means dozens of accused criminals may never face trial. more than 40 cases were dropped today. vick with the latest on vic lee with the latest on the story. the judge approved a mass dismissal of 42 cases, most doving drug arrests. 15 cases had already been dropped before the afternoon court hearing. public defender expects even nor be dismiss. we are also looking at other cases involving pass keys that were used and master keys that were used by police. look at cases where there was illegal entry. the dismissals followed a morning news briefing by the district attorney who said his offense has reviewed pending cases which involved the eight officers now under investigation for possible police misconduct. we do not have the evidence to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt given the circumstances and what is going on with the officers at this point we are dismissing the case. t
