A slew of major changes could be on the way to improve traffic flow, sense of place and community enjoyment in downtown Simpsonville.
The City Council met for a planning retreat Friday at Camp Spearhead in northern Greenville County to discuss some big picture directives and priorities for their city in the coming years as growth continues to build in Simpsonville.
The council narrowed down a set of priorities out of a downtown master plan discussion, including changes for traffic flow, the City Park and streetscaping.
Downtown traffic improvements prioritized
The conversation around downtown Simpsonville upgrades has to start with improving traffic flow there, city leaders agreed Friday. At the heart of that issue both figuratively and literally is the Southeast Main Street and Curtis Street intersection.
