Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], April 14 (ANI): Adani Solar Energy Chitrakoot One Ltd (ASECOL), a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), has commissioned a 50 megawatt solar power plant at Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh.

Independent global assessment and certification agency DNV issued the certification following a rigorous audit conducted on the plant s water management in 2020-21.
The certification signifies that the water credit is higher than the water consumed to operate the solar plant.
This is a significant achievement for Kamuthi which is world s one of the largest single location solar projects spanning 2,500 acres, equivalent to 950 Olympic-sized football fields. Power generated at Kamuthi solar power plant provides clean green electricity to 2.65 lakh homes.
According to the DNV certification, the plant created a water credit of 52,982 m3 (cubic metre) which is more than its water consumption for the year 2020-21.

This is the fifth project commissioned before schedule by the company over the past one year, AGEL said in a statement. The plant has power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at Rs 2.82 per kilowatt hour.
With successful commissioning of the plant, the company has an operational wind generation capacity of 497 MW. AGEL has total renewable capacity of 14,815 MW including 11,470 MW that has been awarded and is at different stages of implementation.
With this project, the company has added a total renewable capacity of 800 MW in the last 12 months despite challenges of Covid-19 outbreak.
Focus on renewable electricity generation is one of the key aspects of Total s carbon transition strategy.

This includes prior acquisition of a 50 per cent stake in a 2.35 GWac portfolio of operating solar assets owned by AGEL. We consider the acquisition credit positive because it strengthens Total s position in the low carbon business, facilitating its goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, said Moody s in its latest credit outlook released on Monday.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], January 18 (ANI): The Adani Group said on Monday that France-based Total will acquire 20 per cent minority interest in Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL).
The investment in AGEL is another step in the strategic alliance between Adani Group and Total across various businesses and companies of the Adani Group, covering investments in LNG terminals, gas utility business and renewable assets across India. This is in-line with the commitment of both Adani and Total to be leading participants in the sustainable economy of future and help India in its quest for development of renewable energy, said an official statement issued by the Adani Group.
