A wooden cabinet of Dewey Decimal-assigned cards stands by the entrance of the Graves County Public Library, perhaps as a testament to libraries of the past. Banks of computer consoles showcase a newer era where information can be called up in a flash, alongside rooms dedicated to reading and research.
Wednesday, community members gathered for a ribbon cutting on another phase of the Graves County Public Library with its new community room and reading garden.
During a brief introduction, GCPL Director Deana Gschwind thanked the community and the libraryâs board of trustees for their support to expand the libraryâs campus, as well as planning, design and work by Riley Architect Services and Adams Construction Company.
Update 3-7-21: This boil water advisory has now been lifted.
Due to a main line break, although no contamination has been confirmed, Paintsville Utilities has voluntarily issued a boil water advisory for the following areas:
– RT 321 from the top of Starfire Hill to the American Standard Bridge including all side roads in between. This also includes the area across the American Standard Bridge.
– RT 1428 from the old Adams Construction location to US 23including all side roads in between. This includes Rolling Hills.
– All of West Van Lear and all of Van Lear to the top of Richmond Hill including all side roads. Powell Addition is included.
