A meeting was held in Olivia in March to see if there was any community support towards purchasing the home and turning it into something from which the entire community and region could benefit.

Clyde was born on September 28, 1928 to the late Robert H. and Amanda C. Vanoer of Chattanooga. He remained in Chattanooga except for the time he spent serving in the military. When Clyde was young, he was a member of the Boy Scouts, where he was a First Class Scout. Mr. Walter Keith was his scout master, and also his Sunday school teacher at Grace Methodist Church, where Clyde was saved at the age of fourteen. Grace Methodist Church, at the time, was located at the corner of Taylor and Ocoee St., across from Avondale Elementary School.
