Westmeath GAA’s Central Council Delegate, Tom Hunt is part of a group leading a change to hurling and football rules in an effort to tackle cynical play.
Tom Hunt, John Gleeson (Tipperary) and Ned Quinn (Kilkenny) succeeded in getting the motion included on the clár for this year’s GAA Congress on 27 February just when it seemed it would be postponed for consideration at a later debate.

The Quay, Faversham
Nicky Martin and partner Tania took on The Quay in May last year and managed to open after a refurbishment in October for a short time before the county was plunged into the tier system. At their previous site in The Carriage Restaurant they had run a Donate a Dinner scheme during the first lockdown and in this one they have a takeaway collection and local delivery service on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes.
