Here is the latest track. This is from the National Hurricane center. You can see the storm still in the gulf, but that rain already impacting parts of florida. Max winds now at 40 miles per hour. And its barely moving toward the north at 2 miles an hour. We anticipate the storm to pick up speed. And heres the thing, were waiting for the National Hurricane center to update the track. Notice how it keeps it east of our area. This track is going to change. Its going to shift further in, further to the east impacting us. I want to give you a quick overview of your Labor Day Weekend. Right now in washington and inside the beltway the temperatures are a little bit above freezing. Were in the 30s. Right on the bay its in the mid to upper 30s but pax river, 31. Cold spots, manassas, warrenton, 28 right now. Luray right now, 20. Right along from 81 to haig ergstown, its a little bit mierld. You have a few clouds coming in. Its below freezing. Many spots in West Virginia as well. Right now storm team 4 radar scanning our skies, no rain or anything coming out of our sky. Toward the south where it says or looks like rain it is snowing in this area too. That snow seeing some accumulating snow in parts of the region too. Weve got a lot more moisture making its way in here. Well continue to watch this throughout the night. The hope is pretreated roads in Northern Virginia will hold up to the snow sleet, rain ice tonight. Vdot crews were out in full force for hours getting the streets in arlington, fairfax, Prince William counties. About 500 trucks are out right now ready to retreat roads as the snow falls. Crews will be out again on sunday night as well. They ask everybody to slow down if you have to be out. He spent more than 30 years teaching special education students in bethesda.
