Covid-19: Shun handshaking for now - NCCE LISTEN 1
Mr. Francis Asamani, the Adaklu District Officer, National Centre for Civic Education (NCCE), on Tuesday appealed to Ghanaians to shun handshaking for now though it was part of their culture. If we are to succeed in our fight against the spread and eradication of coronavirus, we should try as much as possible to avoid handshakes, though it is part of our culture, he said.
Mr. Asamani who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Adaklu Waya said we should all know that we are not in normal times.

Man grabbed for stabbing motor rider LISTEN

One Kwaku Adzi, 28, an unemployed native of Vedome, near Adaklu-Waya, has been arrested after stabbing a motor rider whom he had asked to assist to get to Vedome on Sunday.
Adzi was arrested by a mob from Adaklu-Waya after the incident.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Alex Yeboah, who is the acting Ho Municipal Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency that the suspect after engaging the motorbike rider, Wonder Agbenyenufe, 26, stabbed him midway through the journey in the right rib grounding the bike.
He said Adzi again pounced on the victim and tried to strangulate and forcefully break the neck of the victim.
Mr Phanuel Donkor Kadey, Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE), has noted that the media is a key partner in the delivery of good governance and called for support for them. The media, we all are aware is key in the delivery of good governance, transparency and accountability as well as promoting greater participation of the citizenry. Mr Kadey said it was therefore very important that any platform that sought to empower the citizenry by getting them involved in governance at all levels was supported. The DCE said this when he addressed journalists at the Volta Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) end of year get-together in Ho.
NPP was able to garner 1,967 votes out of the total 15,385 valid votes cast
Stephen Obimpeh Mensah, Adaklu Constituency Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), at the weekend said the party was steadily improving its electoral fortunes in the constituency.
He said the party, which was hitherto counting its electoral votes in hundreds, had gone over a thousand in the just-ended presidential elections.
Mr Obimbeh-Mensah made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Adaklu Waya.
The Organiser said at the just ended Presidential elections the party was able to garner 1,967 votes out of the total 15,385 valid votes cast.
