The chairs in the dining hall are pushed to the edge of the room, and the dorms, with their dark brown bunk beds, have stood empty for more than a year.
Despite the stillness, there s no sense of abandonment at Clear Lake Camp.
Bird song fills the air and spring wildflowers blossom along the trails. Firewood is stacked on the porch of Pioneer Cabin. The place sits ready, anticipating the return of students.
The Battle Creek Outdoor Education Center, better known as Clear Lake Camp, has been closed to the public for the past year due to the pandemic.
