Blizzard conditions and potentially the biggest snowstorm of the season are setting up for California's Sierra Nevada during the second half of the week with several feet of snow in the forecast.
Going into this weekend, AccuWeather meteorologists predict that temperatures will soar across the Intermountain West, with some places perhaps hitting their highest levels of the year thus far.
Although the Atlantic hurricane season doesn't technically finish until November 30, experts say the chances of another tropical storm forming shortly are slim.

The storm moving west to east is expected to develop late Sunday, Jan. 31, and linger into Tuesday, Feb. 2, with most of the region expected to see between 4 and 8 inches of snowfall, with the potential for 6 to 12 inches.
