Violence d. G. O. And the deaf and hard of hearing which is coming up for a vote later this month. But you should know that we were meeting on the d. V. Domestic violence d. G. O. For four years before this, before the new process was put into place, and so those meetings were not happening without sfpd, those were meetings with the d. P. A. , the Domestic Violence consortium and other shake holders and sf stakeholders and sfpd for four years, and we could not get this to the commission. Now were starting over, or theres a chance to start it over in this new process, so we support this resolution. Also, the deaf and hard of hearing, which we talked about a month ago, thats been worked on at the table for two years. Every day that sfpd does not have these updated d. G. O. S, san franciscans are in jeopardy. This must happen. I also signed onto a letter that was not available to the public that really delineated the process from bay area legal aid. A question for clarification on this issue, i had a clarification. So there was detailed letters from the d. P. A. With the line item at, like, line edited revision. There was also letters from the bay area legal and the d. V. Consortium. And somehow, they werent identified i dont know whats the right word, kbut there were people concerned about this resolution. They were filed under 30day correspondence with the commission. People were looking for them, and they didnt know there was input from all of these different groups. Some criticism, and some requests for modifications, and the input. Just for the agendas sake, i wonder why this wasnt identified under the resolution . Why was it just, like, 30day correspondence . Im concerned about the way it was listed in the agenda. Im not sure giving people notice that there was a lot more information regarding this resolution. Someone who pays close attention to what the commission does, i think the commissions resolution has much to be recommended, including establishing a time limit on the back end of the process updated d. G. O. Neglects a serious problem in the process itself how long it takes to get the d. G. O. To concurrence in the first place. The usdoj recommended the d. G. O. Process be reviewed every five years. My time on the Bias Working Group was well spent, and id like to thank those who shepherded us through this process. But these items have taken so long to go from conception to commission. To we cant wait while the streets suffer. Commissioner elias made that quite clear. Neither should the commission be hindered by the meet and confer process. Binding Court Precedent holds that d. G. O. S focused on policy decisions dont trigger meet and confer, nor is it needed to bring these changes to fruition. Sfpd needs it, the public demands it, and i urge you to adopt the d. P. A
