FIFA won’t stop funding to BFF: Murshedy

Bangladesh Football Federation senior vice-president and finance committee chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy on Tuesday said that FIFA will not stop funding to them.
“FIFA will not stop funding to the Bangladesh Football Federation. They never said to stop it; rather they have appreciated our account maintenance system for the last four years. FIFA instructed us to become more transparent, impartial and accountable regarding our financial activities,” Murshedy said in a press conference after completing a virtual meeting with FIFA higher officials.

BFF postpones all domestic leagues

Bangladesh Football Federation on Sunday halted all the ongoing domestic leagues as the Bangladesh government has declared a seven-day lockdown across the country for the time being to tackle the spread of coronavirus, starting today.
The second phase of the premier league and championship league, women s football league and third division league are temporarily postponed until April 11.
Only two events men and women football of the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games will continue as Bangladesh Olympic Association has decided to continue the Games as per government instructions.

Bangladesh Football Federation Fixed Match Detection Committee became a familiar name in the country’s sports fraternity in the last few days.
They came in the limelight when they recently asked for explanations from Arambagh Krira Sangha and Brothers Union after finding some suspicious activities - match-fixing and online betting - from both sides during their five matches of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
However, the two-year tenure of Bangladesh Football Federation’s previous Fixed Match Detection Committee ended last year and the federation is yet to disclose the new committee.
