Arambagh, Brothers under scanner for match-fixing

Arambagh Krira Sangha and Brothers Union were asked for explanations by the Fixed Match Detection Committee of Bangladesh Football Federation as they found some uncharacteristic behaviours from both sides during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
The BFF subcommittee sent official letters to these clubs asking explanations for five matches of the ongoing BPL on Friday.
These matches are - Brothers VS Dhaka Abahani Ltd on January 19, Bashundhara Kings VS Brothers on January 23, Arambagh VS Mohammedan SC Ltd on January 17, Sheikh Russel KC VS Arambagh on February 9 and Dhaka Abahani VS Arambagh on February 13.
BFF want to use Fatullah Stadium

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2021 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin today approached to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon seeking permission to use the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium of Fatullah, which is laying useless for long.
BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag through a video message today said the BFF boss phoned his BCB’s counterpart today afternoon with this issue of how to use the Fatullah stadium or it will be possible to use the stadium for three of four months in a year.
The BFF already facing venue crisis as some football events are already going on and there are still some events left in the coming days.
Final round of National School Football begins

DHAKA, Dec. 18, 2020 (BSS)- Chagalnaiya Pilot High School, Feni played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Suti V.M Pilot Govt. High School, Tangail in the lone opening final round match of the National School Football tournament that has begun from today at Outer stadium at Palton in the city.
In the day’s match, Shariful Islam put Suti V.M Pilot Govt. High School in the 34th minute while AB Bom restored the parity for Chagalnaiya Pilot High School in the 36th minute of the match.
Shariful Islam of Feni was named the player of the match for his impressive performance in the match.

Tricotex 3rd Women’s Football League (WFL) ended at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium on Sunday. Country’s top-flight football club Bashundhara Kings claimed the title with all-win-record in their maiden appearance in the seven-team double-leg league while Nasrin Sporting Club ended runners-up and Jamalpur Kacharipara Akadas third.
Kings secured the title with one match to spare crushing Jamalpur Kacharipara XI by 13-1 goals in their 11th league match last Sunday while maintained the all-win-record beating FC Uttar Bongo by 14-1 goals in the 12th and last league match on Wednesday, all at the same venue.
Jamal tests positive for corona

Bangladesh national football team captain Jamal Bhuyan tested positive for COVID-19 and was quarantined at a hotel in Qatar capital Doha under the supervision of Qatar Football Association, confirmed Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Saturday.
Bangladesh, which went to Qatar to play their lone away match of joint qualifiers round two for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023, returned to Dhaka on Dec 5 with a 0-5-goal defeat to the Asian champions. The Danish-born Bangladesh captain stayed in Doha due to feeling a bit high temperature. Later, he reported positive on December 10.
