A special NIA court in New Delhi has convicted a B Tech graduate from Chennai who pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State terror group in a bid to fight along with it in Syria, an official said on Thursday.
The NIA Special Court at Patiala House, New Delhi pronounced the judgement against Mohammad Naser on Wednesday.
The case, registered by the NIA in December 2015 under sections of the IPC and UA(P) Act, pertains to the criminal conspiracy hatched by the ISIS to establish its base in India by recruiting Muslim youths for ISIS, a proscribed terrorist organisation, through different social media platforms.
