Coadjutor Archbishop Abel Gabuza of Durban died Sunday morning after a battle with COVID-19. He would have been 66 years old on March 23. It is with the greatest sorrow that we announce the death of our Coadjutor Archbishop, Abel Gabuza, Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier OFM, the Archbishop of Durban, said while announcing his coadjutor s death. The archbishop had not been with us in Durban long just short of two years but in that time we came to recognize him as a gentle, caring and warm-hearted pastor, said Cardinal Napier.
