HARMONY GROVE - Smackover made the most of five hits and beat Harmony Grove 4-1 Thursday. The Lady Bucks, who had three double plays in the game, improved to 8-4 on the season.
SMACKOVER - Smackover scored five runs in the first inning and then held on for a 5-2 victory over Dumas in 3A 8 softball action on Tuesday. The Lady Bucks improved to 5-4 overall this season.
Smackover High School s HOSA students (Future Health Professionals) competed Monday in seven contests at the 2023 HOSA Leadership Conference, held in Hot Springs. Maeli Conley placed second in the health career photography competition, and will compete at the international competition in June. Kaleigh Jerry also made it to the second-round of the clinical nursing competition. Abby Brewer, in addition to competing, also ran for state office in the HOSA organization.
DONALDSON - Junction City played error-free softball Tuesday in a 6-0 league win at Ouachita. The Lady Dragons improved to 3-0 on the season.
Sophomore Karla Castillo allowed just four hits with one walk and four strikeouts in seven innings.
CROSSETT - After two tough losses, Smackover earned its first softball victory on Friday, 5-3 over Crossett. The Lady Bucks improved to 1-2 with the non-conference road victory.
