What began as one Boxborough family s gesture to show support to a friend targeted by racism has quickly blossomed into an impressive display of solidarity in Acton and Boxborough. Luce said she responded the same way she did a few years prior when Abayaah-Issah s daughter received a racist note in her school locker. Luce reached out by phone, dropped off something at the family s home, and expressed how terrible she felt. But after the second racial attack occurred during a Jan. 7 School Committee meeting, Luce was unsure what to do to let her friend know she cared and supported her.

Acton-Boxborough United Way has had masks printed to promote unity

Wicked Local From Acton-Boxborough United Way: We are calling on you to join us in the fight for equity and justice in our community. Participate in one or more local initiatives to honor Martin Luther King Day, a National Day of Service, on Monday, Jan.18. Honor Dr. King’s legacy to advance understanding and build a sense of belonging for all of our neighbors.  The fight for racial justice and equity is far from over. It will take everyone working together. As King once said, “If you can’t fly, run. If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl, but by all means, keep moving.”
