What began as one Boxborough family s gesture to show support to a friend targeted by racism has quickly blossomed into an impressive display of solidarity in Acton and Boxborough.
Luce said she responded the same way she did a few years prior when Abayaah-Issah s daughter received a racist note in her school locker. Luce reached out by phone, dropped off something at the family s home, and expressed how terrible she felt.
But after the second racial attack occurred during a Jan. 7 School Committee meeting, Luce was unsure what to do to let her friend know she cared and supported her.
