Monroe police arrest suspect in 3 robberies

A suspect is now in the custody of Monroe police, accused of two robberies and one attempted robbery on April 19.  An arrest warrant was issued for Trealajonte Tigney, 28. On Friday, officers arrested Tigney at his Monroe Township home and took him to the Monroe County jail.  Tigney was arraigned Monday on multiple charges and bond was set at $450,000.

Author: WTOL Newsroom Updated: 8:15 PM EDT April 20, 2021 MONROE, Mich. On the morning of April 19, three armed robberies - two successful and the other attempted - occurred in Monroe. Through investigation, detectives have identified the suspect in all three incidents as Trealajonte Tigney, who is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Man arrested in city shootout

Police arrested a man they said fired at least 20 rounds from an assault rifle during an apparent gunfight in a Monroe neighborhood. The Monroe Police Department identified one shooter as Ronald Roberts, 35, of Monroe Township. He was taken into custody on Friday and detained on numerous felony warrants, including assault with intent to murder, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession with intent to deliver narcotics and numerous parole violations. He was arraigned on Monday in First District Court and remanded to the Monroe County jail without bond. Police said the shootout occurred in the 400 block of Almyra Ave. Detectives reported more than 45 bullet casings were recovered from at least four different guns. Although no people were hit, many cars and occupied residences in the neighborhood were struck with bullets.
