Lately, I can’t take my attention away from Nashville’s Easy Eye Sound label run by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys, and new music from acts like Aaron Frazer, Shannon & the Clams and, of course, the Black Keys. Now we’ve been introduced to Southern soul singer Robert Finley, a man who only fully began to take his music career seriously after becoming legally blind in his 60s.
Soul quintet Durand Jones & The Indications released the video for "Witchoo," the lead single from their forthcoming studio album 'Private Space,' which the band will support with a tour in September.

Durand Jones & The Indications are back with their third studio album and some modern soul. The group will release
Private Space on July 30 on Dead Oceans in association with Colemine Records.
Lead single “Witchoo” showcases the band’s new lean towards synthy modern soul and disco beats. The combined vocals of Durand Jones and drummer Aaron Frazer’s falsetto help the five-piece filled out by Blake Rhein (guitar), Steve Okonski (keys) and Mike Montgomery (bass) blend classic sounds with a modern twist.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Yola will release a new album entitled
Stand For Myself via Easy Eye Sound on July 30. Yola previewed her sophomore full-length LP by sharing its lead single, “Diamond Studded Shoes,” along with a video for the track.
The 12-track album was produced by Dan Auerbach who also helmed 2019’s
Walk Through Fire. Yola recorded
Stand For Myself, described as “a sonic shift from her debut album,” last fall with a rhythm section featuring bassist
Nick Movshon and drummer
Aaron Frazer. Co-writers on songs crafted while Yola was self-quarantining during the pandemic include Ruby Amanfu, John Bettis, Pat McLaughlin, Natalie Hemby, Joy Oladokun, Paul Overstreet, Liz Rose, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Hannah Vasanth and Bobby Wood.
Preservation Hall presents ‘Round Midnight Preserves livestream concerts
As fans await the return of live music at Preservation Hall, the venerable jazz institution will present ‘Round Midnight Preserves 2021, a free, two-night livestream concert, that will serve as a fundraiser. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be joined by Ivan Neville along with Durand Jones and the Indications.
Son of the great soul singer Aaron Neville, Ivan Neville is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer. He has played with the likes of the Neville Brothers, The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt and Paula Abdul, as well as leads his own band Dumpstaphunk.
