Article content Manitoba First Nations Police Service is pleased to announce the newest Member to the Police Service, K-9 ZION. Zion is a Belgian Malinois and is currently in training with his Handler Cst. T.A. (Travis) Assiniboine. On April 19, 2021, a competition was held for Opaskwayak Detachment and a new dog Handler. Cst. Assiniboine was the successful candidate, and along with Zion is currently in training at the Office of the Fire Commissions training facility in Brandon. The course is an intense 16 weeks of training and upon graduation, both Zion and Cst. Assiniboine will be deployed to the community of Opaskwayak Cree Nation. Cst.
