Grande man shot dead in drive-by shooting in Mt Lambert A Sangre Grande man is dead after a drive-by shooting on Monday afternoon. Police said Marlon Moraldo, 43, was standing on Mt Lambert Circular Road between the Priority Bus Route and the Eastern Main Road, near the traffic lights at around 4.10 pm when a car drove by and shot him several times. He died at the scene. Newsday understands at least two other people were wounded in the shooting. Homicide Investigators were at the scene up to late on Monday evening.

Taurus, King Cobra, firearms seized by police

A Sangre Grande man was arrested on Monday after police allegedly found a loaded firearm in his home. The 23-year-old man, of McShine Street, was detained and the Taurus pistol with nine round of 40 caliber ammunition were seized. The arrest was made during police exercise duty in the Sangre Grande district between 9.45 a.m. and 11 a.m. The King Cobra firearm and five rounds of ammunition which police found at Cocorite The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Aguilal, supervised by Cpl Ramnarine and included PCs Cielto, Singh and Samuel of the Eastern Division Special Operations Unit and PCs Ramkissoon and West of the Sangre Grande CID.
