A Port-of-Spain man has been ordered to stay away from his family and neighbours following a domestic incident which occurred on January 24th. Sherwin Bute, also known as ‘Ziggy,’ was given the order to stay away from the residence of the alleged victims by Deputy Chief Magistrate, Cherril-Anne Antoine, as part of his bail conditions, after appearing virtually before her at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court on January 29th. He was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of grievous bodily harm and one count of cruelty to a child. Bute was granted bail for $80,000. He will reappear before the court again on February 26th.

Justice Eleanor Donaldson-Honeywell had approved a writ of habeas corpus for Meschach Quamina ordering the police to appear before her on Wednesday to justify why he was his detained for four days after he was held in connection with in the incident on January 13.
