He shared a journal entry from when he was fifteen, contemplating life and who he d turn out to be in the future.

you won t be condemned to maybe make the same mistakes in the future. those who don t know about the past might make mistakes in the future and we could avoid them. right now, sadly, three quarters of americans could not name the three branches of government and 1/3 of the americans could not name one branch of the government. it s a sad situation we don t teach history and civics as we used to. they re great interviews. the book is a tremendous read. you get nuggets. i have a soft spot for a historian. you re a historian. i m a reporter that covers history. but i do love reading how you interviewed these historians. what did you take from the conversations that surprised you, that really kind of said this, is something different. in part of history, there are some things you don t know. many people got their history in textbooks in the 7th grade, 8th grade, 9th grade. they haven t gone back and read more about lincoln or washington or more modern presidents like fdr. when you

furthermore if public schools and these programs what makes them think these parents won t move gifted and talented students to private schools. well the ones who can afford it will anyway but those who don t have the money putting their kids into a private school they are really out of luck. it s very sad and again this is all a political correctness kick that serves no one. ainsley: let me tell you how it works in new york, tomi. it s not like it s a school and pulling five kids out of each classroom. 8 specialized high schools here in new york city that represent all five of the burrows, so these high school students when they are in 8th or 9th grade called the ha-sat. the kids who do the best on the test get to apply to those schools and they are accepted. they are surrounded by people just like them and these teachers are exceptional so they can teach these kids that are going to give back to our community. absolutely. we should be rewarding students who perform at high academic
