december of him planning out this attack. from there, people on 4chan started to watch this in realtime on twitch. some of those people started to archived this, and that s how we even know that these videos exist, is that some of the bad guys, especially some of the people who interact with these people, at least know the end ins and outs, and are posting it there. and, that s why this is a problem. this is decentralized. this is something that happened on an amazon owned companies server, to which, we try to take this down in realtime. and it was spread to 4chan, it was spread to other bad websites. there was an 8chan off. somebody took the branding and created a different website. this is not something you can stop. this is something, if somebody wants to do it, they can get it out there. and they may realize too that the next person to do this because they don t think they re the last. they will include their name in the next manifesto. you know, it s that manifesto is, you know,
company s server, twitch, that tried to take it down realtime and spread to 4chan and spread to other website, and this was an 8chan, knockoff, someone created an 8chan branded website. this is not something you can stop. if somebodyme wanting to do thi they can get it out this and they realize the next person will include their name in the next manifesto. that manifesto is, you know, a recitation of everyone else s previous talking points. it s literature to them. and they build on it. in fact, this is, you know, the spookiest part of this, i would say to me, is that the format is pretty set out. you go in and you write about white replacement. pretty much the same thing as the last guy. and then do you a q&a with yourself, to figure out why it s happening and then you list your ammo, drop a bunch of 4chan names that inspire you.
and we partnered with the adl, moon shot and gennex foundation and we put a platform on google called redirect. and they would take people going there looking for some kind of extremist ideology. let s say you go and type in ku klux klan. it will take you to an alternative site saying why are you interested in the klan, what do you feel the klan is able to do for you. and put you through a series of off-ramps and offer alternatives. it s being done successfully. this is an international project. to miles point, i still am just it comes as no surprise to me as an african american male, but i m just that a person would get in a car and drive three hours because he feels endangered by 13% of the united states population just boggles the mind. by the way, on these platforms, 4chan, 8chan and
issue. i would bet elon musk twitter is going to take that down. but i don t know? i m not really sure here what falls into that space? especially now that he is taking the company private. oversight on this thing will be right different. and i will say, by the way, everybody has a line. 4chan, for example, i don t think that fortune is the worst sight on the internet. and it was for a long time. but they had a line. they had a direct line. and that line, to them, was anomie depictions of child pornography. and they started taking that down, this was a few years ago. and so we got a chance. a chance, said we are going to create a space for literally everything is allowed. if you want to do those animated depictions of child pornography, is allowed on 8chan. that was their line. 8chan became a place where people drop manifest those before, it had mass shootings, it s where qanon came from.
