ZAMBOANGA CITY - The city health office (CHO) has so far recorded a total of 17 cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) here. Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Wednesday the cases were among the several samples they sent to the Philippine Genome Center for testing last month. She said they received the results of the tests on February 3 from the center. Miravite said 14 of the 17 were acquired through community transmission, two were authorized persons outside residence (APOR), and one was a returning overseas Filipino (ROF). "All of these (cases) have already recovered," she said. Meanwhile, she said Covid-19 active cases have decreased by 213 to 1,748 on Tuesday from 1,961 on Monday. She said 1,690 or 96.68 percent of the 1,748 active cases were acquired through community transmission.
