A day of service and just positive change in general rather than just focused on tragedy. she would want to see more kindness, more empathy in the world. my father would first want us to smile and not be sad at his passing, but that he got the chance to live. he lived a life of service. he was always, you know, trying to help out his family in the philippines. he made it to the 70th floor of the south tower and brought so many men and women home to their families. and being a fireman was everything to him. and his family, as well. you don t know what s going to happen tomorrow. you don t know what s going to happen when you go to work, and you just got to make the best of it. we really miss him and love him, but we have the faith that we will see him again soon one day. well, thanks to all of you for shining a light tonight.
Got out of the building safely, have you met any of them, anybody who might remember your dad? so i volunteer with the 9/11 memorial museum. we started the visionary network, which is a way for us to educate the next generation. at one of their benefits a couple years ago, i was speaking sorry, i spoke a couple years ago. i went back as a guest. my mom and i were there, and someone got up and was speaking about how he was on the 78th floor of the south tower. he remembers the firefighters bringing him down to safety. i just looked at my mom, and we both got chills. later that evening, we got to meet him. that was just a special moment. every time i hear of someone in the south tower, by the 70th floor, i know it s a gift of my dad wanting me to meet them. i just know that he was there.
