MANILA - New recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reached 6,887 on Saturday, raising the tally to 2,693,162 or 96.7 percent of the overall case count, the Department of Health (DOH) reported. The number of active cases is also up by 4,008, pushing the active cases to 47,690, at least 74.4 percent of whom have mild symptoms, 5.1 percent asymptomatic, 2.7 percent critical, 6.5 percent severe, and 11.27 percent moderate. The DOH said 423 more patients succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll to 43,044. To date, the confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Philippines since the pandemic started in March last year are 2,783,896, of which 1.55 percent have died while 1.7 percent are undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is pegged at 7.8 percent based on the 50,776 individuals tested on October 28.
