In its Covid-19 bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said the new cases brought the active case tally to 39,974 out of a total of 2,871,745 confirmed infections since the start of the pandemic. Wednesday's fresh cases are almost double from Tuesday's 5,434 new cases. The DOH also reported 605 new recoveries, raising the tally to 2,780,109 or 96.8 percent of the total case count. Out of the active cases, 33,866 are mild, 3,020 are moderate, 1,294 are asymptomatic, 319 are critical, and 1,512 are severe. MANILA - New recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reached 6,887 on Saturday, raising the tally to 2,693,162 or 96.7 percent of the overall case count, the Department of Health (DOH) reported. The number of active cases is also up by 4,008, pushing the active cases to 47,690, at least 74.4 percent of whom have mild symptoms, 5.1 percent asymptomatic, 2.7 percent critical, 6.5 percent severe, and 11.27 percent moderate. The DOH said 423 more patients succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll to 43,044.
