and since then there have been a number of protests on both sides of this issue in texas, listen. we re urging governor perry to please, you know, do what you say and beef it up and let s get this passed, bring it on for the special session and do it for texas. i think anything that the country is doing trying to protect us is all well and good. if somebody has a complaint they can file a complaint, but i don t think we need a law. reporter: as early as three days ago texas governor rick perry at a booksigning said he still did not have the votes to pass this thing. there is a special legislative session going on in texas, the governor gets a letter from lawmakers saying, guess what, we now have the votes to get this thing passed. so now governor perry is behind it again, which could lead to another showdown if this passes. look at the numbers here. texas has six major airports. we are talking about 1,804 flights leaving texas every day, about the same number coming in.

the first amendment, the first amendment. establishes the separation, the fact that the federal government shall not establish any religion and decisional law by the supreme court over many, many decades. the first amendment does? clarifies and enshrines that there s a separation of church and state that our courts and our laws must respect. so you re telling me the separation of church and state is found in the first amendment? so here is the deal 47 past the hour. if you re going to use that argument, it helps to be the lawyer. separation of church and state doesn t appear anywhere in the first amendment. in fact, that phrase wasn t even written until 1803, 1804 when jefferson wrote a letter to danbury, connecticut, baptists. there you go. it s not in any of the founding documents.
