$138 million deficit, we will adjust our wages to cover it. just keep it and let us have collective bargaining. and the scott brown or scott walker, who is the governor of this state, said no collective bargaining agreement. that doesn t make any sense. it just shows you this is about ideology, it s not about budgets. well, it seems that those 14 democratic senators do not have any real power of persuasion over those republicans in wisconsin, which is why i keep coming back to the president. last night on this program keith ellison said he thought the president should go to wisconsin. that became a question in the white house press briefing today. i want you to listen to how jay carney handled that. on the wisconsin situation, congressman ellison and others have called for the president to come out to wisconsin and stand with the workers. is that under discussion? not that i m aware of, chip. i think what we have made pretty clear is that the president thinks and we think, he s
out. whether he goes or not. it s up to him. we don t control what he does. but certainly we re aware of what he said, and we need his support right now. we re either going to have a middle class, we re either going to have organized labor in this country, or we re going to have the tea party taking over everything like you see in wisconsin and madison. it was a tremendous demonstration up there. people were peaceful. it was exciting to be there. and people are speaking out for their rights. and i heard the debate you had on this program. and one of the things we re talking about there is the war on the workers. because the teachers, the public employees have said you ve got a $138 million deficit, we will adjust our wages to cover it. just keep it and let us have collective bargaining. and the scott brown or scott walker, who is the governor of this state, said no collective bargaining agreement. that doesn t make any sense. it just shows you this is about ideology, it s not about b
taxes, once they have about 50 to 100 million in the bank. they need to take a long, long vacation, my friend. and taking nothing away from the good intentions, dagen, i always feel if you are so hot to trot, give more, do what they do, that s what you and you can get extra? yes, overpay your taxes. do that. put every dime of your income to the federal government. and by the way, 45 taxpayers, for what, 138 million americans who pay taxes in this country, so they are a small number of people who are trying to do this and i what they re trying to say, only 45 of us, but every millionaire, every charles payne, were to do this, it would add up. why not pony up, charles? you know, for me it s like a 45 skinny people asking for as narrower seats in the airplane. you know what, this would make travel more efficient. the same people who do not want to be sitting next to me. and you know, again, besides the fact that it bugs
network contributor and, charles, good to see you. i was reading the fox business network on-line as i always do, one of your headlines, could it be the biggest black friday ever? and you guys are estimating that maybe 138 million shoppers could head to the stores today. what do you think. you are right. you know, even if it s not the biggest after last year and the year before it will feel like the biggest. a lot of anticipation, that people have saved up a lot of money, credit card debt is down to a couple year lows and house hold debt has come down and americans, i wouldn t say intuitively, but love to spend money and we ll see a better shopping season, this time around. and, gregg, i have to tell you, the last couple of weeks retail numbers that have come out, whether tiffany or low end stores like kohl s have been pretty impressive, and, you know, i think as far as spending this holiday season, we ll get a sigh of relief.
walmart, and shoppers were waiting. there s no long lines. and there s not too many people in here so it s not really crowded. there is an element of desperation in this. retailers want to know as soon as possible where they re going for the holiday season. reporter: stores are hoping to capitalize on what is projected to be a more profitable shopping season. retailers expect about 138 million shoppers to hit the stores. 4 million more than last year. and they ll spend about $450 billion in merchandise. but the recession is still fresh on many shoppers minds. i think i feel a little optimistic but i haven t made up my mind if i m going to spend more or less. reporter: in fact, 81% of americans say they ll spend less this holiday season. that s why retail experts say black friday will be a buyers market. the door buster deals tomorrow, the jaw-dropping prices, those are definitely in retail stores, in the mall. they want to get you there and spending your dollars. report
