(CHICAGO) The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 1,143 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, which is the lowest number of cases for a single day since the end of July last summer. There were 20 additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the coronavirus death toll in Illinois to 20,536. While the statewide positivity rate for the past seven days is at 2.4 percent, the Southern Illinois Region had dropped to 1.7 percent.
