MisOcc crime volume dips 11% in 1H 2022

Google map of Misamis Occidental. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - Misamis Occidental province's crime volume dropped by 11 percent for the first half of this year. In a statement Tuesday, the Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office (MOCPPO) said a total crime volume of 613 cases were recorded from January 1 to June 30 this year compared to 688 crimes during the same period in 2021. Col. Anthony Placido, MOCPPO chief, said the decrease in crimes is a result of continuous law enforcement operations that have so far yielded 372 wanted persons. Placido also noted that the campaign against loose firearms resulted in the confiscation of some 180 firearms, including those seized during the election gun ban, that were safely kept in local police stations. For the anti-illegal drugs campaign, MOCPPO launched a total of 19 operations which resulted in the arrest of 25 persons and confiscation of 126.77 grams of illegal drugs amounting to some PHP330,000. Palace updates industries restricted from foreign investments

EO No. 175, signed on Monday, was issued as part of the requirements under Republic Act (RA) No. 7042 or the Foreign Investments Act of 1991 which mandates the formulation of a Regular Foreign Investment Negative List. "There is a need to formulate the Twelfth Regular Foreign Investment Negative List, replacing the Eleventh Regular Foreign Investment Negative List, to reflect changes to List A and List B, pursuant to existing laws, consistent with the policy to ease restrictions on foreign participation in certain investment areas or activities," the EO read. List A may be amended at any time to reflect changes instituted in specific laws while List B will only be made at least once every two years. LTFRB eyes release of fuel subsidy s 2nd tranche by early July

MANILA - Operators and drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) may receive the second tranche of the government's fuel subsidy program by early July, an official of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said on Wednesday. In a Viber message to reporters, LTFRB Executive Director Maria Kristina Cassion said the documentary requirements for the release of funds for the second tranche are being prepared. "We're targeting early July. However, it would also depend on how fast the DBM (Department of Budget and Management) can download the funds to us," Cassion said. She noted that beneficiaries may receive the fuel subsidy "much faster" for the second tranche as their cards would have been produced by the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP).
