According to the police report, the fire occurred around 4:15 a.m. on the third floor of a building along Kaliraya St. in Barangay Tatalon 1, Quezon City. The police said the children who perished were aged 9, 8, and 4. The children's parents and older sibling also suffered injuries and were brought to East Avenue Medical Center for treatment. The children's father told reporters that his wife was awakened by the thick smoke coming from a vacant room on the third floor that quickly spread to the living room. The father said he and his wife grabbed their four-month-old baby and crawled to the second level with their eldest child.

MANILA - State-run Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) has financed a total of 5,411 socialized homes for its minimum-wage and low-income members within the first four months of this year. Data released Wednesday showed that socialized home loans make up 18 percent of the 29,310 units financed by Pag-IBIG from January to April 2022. In terms of amount, socialized home loans represent 7 percent or PHP2.35 billion out of the record-high PHP31.97 billion of home loans released by the agency in the same period.
