In a report on Friday, ACG chief Brig. Gen. Joel Doria, identified the suspects as Gina Gutierrez, 49, and Marry Ann Bersabe, 31, who were arrested by members of its Cyber Financial Crime Unit (CFCU). The operation stemmed from the complaint of a victim, whose identity was withheld, who said he transacted for the purchase of an iPhone 13 Pro Max from a certain "Emerson Gerona Jr. Cabrera" via Facebook on an installment payment basis. The victim then sent an initial down payment of PHP18,450. Shortly after making the payment, the victim said the suspect blocked him on Facebook, prompting him to post a warning on the social media site. In a statement Friday, Brig. Gen. Oliver Enmodias, chief of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), identified the suspects as Senior Master Sgt. Alex Asis, Staff Sgt. Raffy Reposar and Cpl. Jerwin Dacillo, assigned at the Palo Municipal Police Station (MPS). Emodias said the three were arrested by members of the IMEG Visayas Field Unit office with the assistance of officers from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-8 inside the Palo MPS at around 6 p.m. The operation stemmed from a complaint filed with the VFU Team against the cops for multiple extortion, robbery and sexual harassment.
