USA Schools has new COVID-19 case

The Unionville-Sebewaing Area School District announced that one of its staff members is a probable positive COVID-19 case.
“The district is coordinating closely with the Huron County Health Department to assure our community’s health and safety,” superintendent George Rierson said in the announcement.
The staff member identified is not a teacher and the district was notified of the probable positive on Monday morning. The district performed contact tracing with the health department and identified all close contacts through video to identify those who were around the individual for a cumulative 15 minutes.

The majority of student across the Upper Thumb remain in class as schools continue to announce new COVID-19 cases among students and staff members.
Some schools have even made the decision to transition certain grades to temporary remote learning if exposed to an individual with coronavirus symptoms.
On Jan. 27, Deckerville Community Schools notified parents of two school associated COVID-19 cases in a student or staff member. According to announcement, cleaning and disinfecting of the exposed locations has been completed.
The school s COVID-19 dashboard, located on its website, has been updated regularly and remains the ideal location for Deckerville community members to seek school related virus news.

To the Editor:
Having received my first Covid vaccination today at Evangel Life, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Huron County Health Department and all of its employees. From the gentlemen who met us as we drove up, to the woman who screened us once inside the building, to the nurses who administered the vaccine, everyone was friendly, kind, and obviously well-trained. In truth, I have seldom seem such a complex operation carried out so smoothly and professionally.

HURON COUNTY Over 2,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Huron County since they arrived, according to Ann Hepfer.
The health officer for the Huron County Health Department provided an update on the county’s vaccination efforts at this week’s Huron County Board of Commissioners meeting.
