KSRTC employees and their family members staged a protest in Hassan urging the State government to fulfil the demands of the employees. Women and children took part in the dharna carrying plates and cups. The protesters gathered at Hemavathi Statue Circle and from there they marched to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, raising slogans.
The protesters said that the employees had been on the strike demanding hike in salaries. The payment they had been getting all these years was insufficient given the basic needs of the families. Many could not afford higher education for their children. The government should listen to their demands and fulfill them. Third man injured in Chakenahalli blast succumbs

One more person who was injured in the gelatin blast at Chakenahalli in Holenarsipur taluk on Sunday died on Thursday. With this, all three injured in the incident have died.
Nataraju, 28, of Bettadahalli in Channarayapatna taluk, who was seriously injured in the incident, died at Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences. His friend Samapth, 27, also from the same village, had died on the spot soon after the blast. Another injured, Ravi Kumar of B.J. Maranahalli in Hassan taluk, died at a hospital in Bengaluru on Monday. The blast took place while they were handling explosives at a magazine on a piece of private land in Chakenahalli.

BENGALURU: Some doctors are apprehensive of going in for Covaxin and they have demanded that the government give them the option to take Covishield.While Covishield is being distributed in 237 centres across districts, Covaxin is being given only in six centres in six districts. These doctors working in the six medical colleges, who have no option but to take Covaxin, have approached their respective district health centres, expressing their fears and citing safety concerns.
Ballari, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Chamarajanagar and Davangere are the six districts where Covaxin is given in the government medical colleges - Shivamogga Institute Of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) and Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS).

Sanitation and ‘D’ Group workers were the first ones to be inoculated in each of the 243 centres where vaccination began on Saturday.
While 41-year-old Chandrashekar Rao, a cook in the canteen of K.C. General Hospital, was the first one to take the jab in the State, Nagaratna K., 28, a ward attendant at Victoria hospital, received the vaccine in the presence of Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Health and Medical Education Minister K. Sudhakar.
