View Comments FOND DU LAC - Police continue to investigate a report of gunshots fired in the city of Fond du Lac on the Fourth of July holiday. Fond du Lac Police Department Assistant Chief Steve Klein said officers were called out about 3:15 a.m. Sunday to the area of Forest Avenue and South Military Road for possible gun shots heard in the area. Fond du Lac County Communications Center received two calls on the incident and officers recovered shell casings from the roadway.  A witness told police they saw a red, 4-door vehicle make a U-turn at the intersection of Forest and Military and saw the driver stick a gun out the window and fire a number of shots straight up into the air as he drove off.
