We at the Dietrich Theater had that opportunity on May 13 when the head chef of Samarios Pizza and Restaurant was featured on the Food Network’s show called Chef Bootcamp. Yes, we could help our good neighbor celebrate by giving their staff and family a chance to see the show on the big screen at the Dietrich. SCRANTON, Pa. It was Friday night in the Electric City and a brand-new festival kicked off at an interesting time - Scranton s first-ever ice festival got underway!
Its inaugural edition comes as so many other festivals are being canceled.
At the Hilton on Adams Avenue in Scranton, live music pumped from an outdoor speaker as a band inside entertained spectators on the outside to maintain social distancing.
This is just one of the many attractions for the first-ever Ice Festival in the Electric City that runs through Sunday and these two friends got in tune with the beats.

SCRANTON With all of the snow that was recently piled on, what better way to make it look even more like winter in Scranton than with ice sculptures around its downtown area.
The city will have its first-ever Scranton Ice Festival during the weekend of Friday, Feb. 5, to Sunday, Feb. 7.
This free outdoor festival will be an opportunity for the community to safely patronize various local businesses, which will have used their branding or logo to come up with creative and whimsical ice sculptures placed in front of them. These include one of Baby Yoda holding a bowl in front of Peculiar Slurp on Penn Avenue and an angel holding a book in front of Heaven and Earth on Wyoming Avenue.
