Vietnam registered 12 domestically-transmitted COVID-19 cases from 6:00 am on Monday to 6:00 am on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health.
Eight of the patients were logged in northern Vinh Phuc Province, two in Ha Nam, one in Da Nang, and one in Hanoi, the health ministry said in a statement.
The ministry reported 11 coronavirus cases imported from abroad over the same time span. They had been quarantined upon entry into Vietnam.

An investigation is underway in Vinh Phuc Province after local police have detected a total of 39 Chinese suspected to enter Vietnam illegally.
The detection was made while Vietnamese authorities at all levels have been taking necessary measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, including the prevention of illegal entry made by people from the country’s neighbors, including China.
Police in Vinh Phuc said on Tuesday morning that these Chinese had been found residing illegally at three locations in the provincial capital city of Vinh Yen, with signs of border jumping.
Vietnam reports two more local Covid-19 cases in Da Nang, Hanoi

Two men in Hanoi and Da Nang were confirmed with Covid-19 Tuesday morning as Vietnam is dealing with a fresh community outbreak.
The Da Nang case, 28, resides in the central town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province but has come to live and work in neighboring Da Nang since April 29.
He started to show Covid-19 symptoms of fever and fatigue last Sunday and tested positive for the new coronavirus the next day.
Vietnam confirms 19 more Covid-19 patients

Vietnam has recorded 19 more Covid-19 cases Monday afternoon, including 10 community transmission cases in coronavirus epicenters Vinh Phuc and Ha Nam, and nine imported ones.
The new cases were numbered 2963-2981. The nine imported cases were quarantined upon entry in the southern provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Kien Giang, central Khanh Hoa province, and central Da Nang City.
Five new community transmission cases, numbered 2972-2976, were recorded in northern Vinh Phuc Province, all female employees at a medical center in the province s Vinh Yen Town and having made contact with a group of Chinese experts who tested positive with the coronavirus after returning to China.

Vietnam announced a daily spike of six domestically-transmitted coronavirus infections on Sunday, alongside 12 imported cases from Japan, Russia, and the Philippines.
Six of the community-based cases, a karaoke parlor’s employees, were registered in northern Vinh Phuc Province, the Ministry of Health said in a report.
They had come into contact with a group of five Chinese experts who visited different places in Vietnam after finishing their quarantine in the country.
Two of the Chinese experts returned to China on April 29. One of them was diagnosed with COVID-19 in their home country on May 1.
