HOPEWELL, Va. (February 14, 2021)-Due to a power outage resulting from the recent ice storms impacting Virginia American Water s water treatment plant in Hopewell, the company has issued a conservation notice for all customers served by its Hopewell water system. This includes approximately 9,500 customers in the City of Hopewell, as well as the subdivisions of New Birchett Estates, Cedar Creek, Cedar Creek West, Strattford Woods and Mullberry Woods in Prince George County. Customers were notified through company s Code Red customer notification system which is delivered by phone call, text or email, and the city of Hopewell s emergency notification system.

West Virginia American Water announced today that Michael Raymo has been named Director of Engineering for the company. Raymo replaces Brett Morgan who recently retired from West Virginia American Water after nearly 35 years of dedicated service.
Raymo, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and Army veteran, joins West Virginia American Water after serving in American Water’s Military Services Group for the last 10 years, most recently as the Director of Capital and Assessment Management and Regional Director of Operations.
