Support PG celebrates one year anniversary

To mark its recent one-year anniversary, Support PG is launching a summer-themed contest to encourage people to shop local.
Called the ‘Passport for your Summer Vacation,” it runs from April 28th until September 28th.
The Support PG website offers businesses access to COVID-19 related resources, an “Open Now” directory where businesses can list available services and changing hours, Featured Business stories, a weekly blog to provide information, and good news stories about individuals and organizations.
More than 50 local businesses and organizations have partnered on this initiative including: Bon Voyage Restaurant, Northern Lights Estate Winery, Homescope Décor, and the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum.
An estimated 2,500 people took the opportunity to get away their screens and into the great outdoors to take part in 25 activities that made for an Easter weekend afternoon of fun. Cruisers were challenged at Pine Centre Mall and the City Hall/Rolling Mix Concrete Arena parking lots to try to find a character dressed in red and white stripes and wearing thick-rimmed glasses for a Where’s Waldo sighting. A fox on the run was playing hide and seek and posing for pictures from a safe distance at Moore’s Meadow and there was a moose on the loose entertaining the kids at Cpl. Darren Fitzpatrick Bravery Park.

Any super-fans of Harry Potter, Friends, the Office, or Disney can show off their skills tonight (Thursday) at the Northern Lights Estate Winery parking lot.
The winery, Ness Lake Bible Camp, and Pandemic Friendly Entertainment are hosting a Drive-In Trivia night from 6 to 11:30 pm with the proceeds going towards local charities.
Organizer, Dave Horton told
MyPGNow.com a similar event proved successful in the spring.
“I mean, it’s a throwback to the spring where we were putting on drive-in events as well. The biggest one we ever did was Harry Potter, it was sold out and that blew my mind, it just shows me that yes, the nerds need tonight and it was a ton of fun, that crowd was super-fun when we were doing drive-in trivia.”
